Wooden Stacking Game Regarded As Fundamental Childhood Developmental Tool

By Odessa Edwards

Wooden stacking game is for toddlers to create a pass time activity and help them develop their creativity and motor skills. These are sometimes called nesting toys, loved by toddlers within the age bracket where they can sit and play on the open floor. Stacking games are basics in early childhood development with many benefits.

Many of these toys are for kids between ages of 2 year to four years and slightly above. This age bracket is fond of putting things in the mouth, so parents should pay attention to what kind of material their children use. The block size is also important to know. Very small blocks create a risk where the child can swallow and get choked by the block. A sizable block to carry around is good. Wood is better than plastic because it is a natural organic material without manufacturing chemicals.

Toys are usually decorated in various ways. They could be of a natural or painted variety. Those that are painted could possibly cause nasal irritation to the child, especially if they are covered with oil-based paints. Remember as well, that paint could come off when the toy has been used quite often. There are no sharp edges on the usual things that are made for stacking purposes, which is an added advantage.

Babies usually find blocks of wood to be quite an interesting attraction, and they are useful for improving the movement of the child's hand towards an object. At a young age a baby should learn how to process visual information in the correct way, and understand how his or hand moves to and from various stimuli. A baby will be quite excited about blocks, even though adults may perceive them to be just simple objects.

Colored blocks can also be used to teach the different colors to a baby. They usually have bright, attractive colors which are easy to recognize. You can play color matching games to assist with visual memory and color differentiation.

Games with blocks of different sizes are also recommended. About five different sizes are ideal. Now the young child can sort them into matching colors and sizes, and learn how to compare objects.

Direct hand activities are good in early childhood development. This will create a culture of curiosity in a creative and entertaining way for the child that will be beneficial later on. The sense of touch's the most important of all senses, and the earlier it develops, the better. This applies to the sense of sight as well as critical thinking which boosts creativity.

Wooden stacking game comes with plenty of benefits for your child and are a great investment in early childhood development. Considering the above information will help you get the best set of toys for your child that will help in an all-round development process while they grow in a creative environment.
