The Choice On Tattoo Removal And The Different Methods

By Ines Brennan

The reasoning behind getting a tattoo tends to vary between different people. Some cover practically their entire bodies with it while others have very little. Others get large ones while some get tiny, barely noticeable ones. But for every satisfied customer, there is someone that regrets making that choice. For those people, a trip to a tattoo removal orange county clinic may be their next move.

Those supposedly permanent marks are actually quite possible to remove. But because they were supposed to be permanent, the process may not be as simple as you think. It can be quite difficult to pull off, and not everything works the same way for everybody.

There have been numerous methods to get rid of ink in the past. Most if not all of the were quite extreme and even dangerous, leaving behind hideous scars. Now, state of the art technologies and techniques exist that can remove ink with less risk and scarring. Most notable of these procedures is laser treatment.

Laser is a procedure that is capable of removing unwanted body art with minimal to no side effects whatsoever. The procedure works by breaking down the tattoo. After that, the body absorbs the broken down ink in a way that mimics that natural fading created by time or perhaps sun exposure. Because of the high standards and relatively safe practice, it is considered the golden standard as far as removal techniques are concerned.

If that does not appeal to you, then you may consider other options. Chief among them is something called Intense Pulsed Light Therapy or IPLT, which is employed by some spas. It uses high intensity light in a similar fashion to laser, and is said to be much more effective and less painful. On the downside, it is more expensive and for some reason, experts do not recommend its usage.

The benefits of modern techniques are undeniable. Though laser has made everything else practically obsolete, there are even more ways to consider. Cryosurgery for example, is when the affected body part is frozen before removing the tat.

Other methods are dermabrasion and excision. Dermabrasion involved sanding in order to remove certain parts of the skin such as the surface and the middle layer. For excision, a surgeon would attempt to remove the tattoo with the use of a scalpel and would close the wound using stitches. If a large one was removed, skin grafts were often necessary as part of the healing process.

Because of their painful and harsh nature, it is understandable why these methods gave way to the rise of more state of the art technologies. It is baffling why anyone would choose these methods over more modern and less painful ones. Despite that, they remain in practice to this day, but not quite as rampant or widespread as before.

Tattoos may seem cool and there are cultures that actually demand it of certain people, but in all honesty, it comes down to a matter of choice. Tattoo removal orange county clinics exist for a reason, but the choice can be made not to get one. This is especially true if you are just going to have it removed at a later date.
