Clear Water Swimming Pool Chlorinators

Few things can beat an afternoon spent lazing around a sparkling clean pool. The clear water draws the attention of both swimmers and those lounging on deck chairs, enjoying a cool, refreshing drink. Owners who need assurances that they will not experience the embarrassment of green algae and thick sludge on party days are turning to swimming pool chlorinators.

Unless one has an Olympic-size facility, maintenance should not be hugely expensive, nor overly time-consuming. This is an entertainment area that is usually in high demand in the warm summer months. As such, every owner desires a quick and easy upkeep solution.

Salt swimming pool chlorinators have come to the rescue of many owners in this predicament. Chlorinators have reduced the maintenance budget and decreased the labor involved in maintenance. A bonus is the fact that salt replaces chemicals that may be damaging to the health or personal safety of swimmers.

Chlorine is undoubtedly an effective method of maintaining the clarity of standing water, but it is not without risk. Storage of chlorine can be dangerous but so can the much of the chemical. It creates an unpleasant smell and unpleasant swimming conditions as many swimmers suffer from skin and eye complaints when they encounter the chemicals in water.

A fairly large amount of salt is required for the initial application. An average amount would be in the region of two hundred kilograms. This may seem a startling amount to an individual using this method for the first time.

Salt is not expensive but two hundred kilograms of anything is costly. Fortunately, this large amount is a once off requirement. It is also necessary to weigh the expense against the price of chemical cleaners and to take into account that the price is not fixed but rises as rapidly as other living expenses.

More salt is required only for water that has been added. This usually means adding salt when water is topped up after the cleaning process. The amount of salt required is dependent on the number of liters of water utilized.

This method of utilizing salt is not new. Chlorinators have been in use for nearly 35 years. They have, however, grown in popularity in recent years.

The recent rise in popularity of chlorinators is not simply a matter of economics. The benefits of not using chemicals are enormous. Those who suffer from respiratory ailments will notice a positive difference and their swimming pleasure will be greatly enhanced.

It has taken swimming pool chlorinators a long time to come into their own. The economic squeeze combined with serious concern about the impact of chemicals on the environment has probably prompted the change in maintenance methodology. Those who will benefit most from this change are those people who enjoy taking a dip. Their enjoyment will be greatly enhanced by the mildly salted water while there will be no chemicals to irritate the eyes or the skin.
