Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Other Heart-Healthy Foods

For those who want to keep their hearts to the utmost level of health, food of the best variety is going to be required. Extra virgin olive oil is one of the best examples to consider but what are some of the other foods that should have your attention? Which ones are those which can be deemed heart-healthy, you may wonder? If you are looking for the best options possible, make sure that you keep these in mind as you maintain the best diet possible.

Extra virgin olive oil is, in my view, one of the best foods for the sake of better health and monounsaturated fats come together as just one of the aspects to consider. These fats work well because they are ones that the body can use, unlike saturated fats which are one of the biggest health concerns for many individuals. If you want to stay healthy, this is one type of oil that should not go unnoticed.

What are some of the other foods to consider outside of extra virgin olive oil, though, for the sake of aiding your heart? You might want to go with fish, considering that it is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, designed to help the heart in the long term. Fish also serves as a tremendous source of vitamin D, which is great considering that it is a nutrient which only specific foods have. While you may be able to take in any type of fish and attain the best results, I recommend salmon.

Beans are a vegetarian-friendly item to consider as well but just about everyone can benefit from them. They contain less fat and cholesterol than animal products but they are still able to offer the essential amounts of protein that the body needs. There are many types of beans to consider as well, legumes being one of the more common examples. Believe me when I tell you that your heart is going to thank you for the dietary effort that is made on your part.

In order to keep your heart at the highest level of health possible, it goes without saying that certain foods stand out more than others. These are only a few options to consider, though, as there are many others which should be able to benefit you as a food lover. The ones listed can not only help your heart remain as healthy as possible but provide you with nutrients that you might have been missing out on. Make it a point to incorporate these types of food more often.
