You have to stop smoking, especially when the date for the procedure is already set. Smoking can just lead to post-op complications. Also, many doctors refuse to operate on patients when they have nicotine in their system. As much as possible, you should stop smoking a month before you go through this particular procedure.

Ask someone to be ready to help you out after the procedure. They should be willing to help you around your house, especially for the first two weeks after the procedure. They can be your physical support or they can provide you with services like laundry and light cleaning. You can have your relatives for this work or you can hire professionals for it.
