Quality Summer Day Camp Port Perry Locations Have To Offer

By Elaine Guthrie

The end of the school year is fast approaching and you are at a loss as to what to do with your child. The summer day camp Port Perry programs have to offer may be a great solution and an answer to your prayers. The Port Perry, ON venues can provide all of your youngsters with a fun and educational curriculum for several weeks during their break from school.

You don't have to worry about your child spending the night. Just drop him off in the morning and pick him up at the designated time in late afternoon. This is a great way to get younger ones used to time away from home and once they get older, they can even attend an overnight-type establishment.

Choose one that fits the age range of your child. Some are geared to preschoolers while others cater to elementary-age youngsters. Some are even focused on the junior high and high school crowd. Be sure not to place your youngster with a younger group as he will feel out of place. And if the other campers are older, he may not be able to keep up with their activities.

These fun and unique facilities will often have distinct themes such as dance, music, gymnastics, sports, boxing, martial arts, chess or math. Choose the one you just know your youngster will learn from and thoroughly enjoy. The various activities that may be available in these venues could include movies, games, arts and crafts, work out sessions, weight lifting, swimming and outdoor games.

Parents will be provided with a listing of all that an attendee would need. These may include swim shoes, swim apparel, snacks, an extra set of clothes, and sunscreen. Sometime meals are part of the plan but often they are not. If they are not provided, just send along a nutritious lunch with plenty of beverages as your child will be spending time outdoors and needs to stay hydrated.

Don't forget to sign up early as space may be limited. Discounts are often offered for early registration. Discounts are also often offered for additional siblings. This will help you financially and your children will be able to still play together and make new friends. Younger ones can be watched over by more responsible older brothers and sisters.

And, on the plus side, parents will gain some extra time to spend doing what they would like to do. This may mean taking yoga courses, learning new skills, making appointments at the hairdresser or nail salon, attending classes or self-improvement courses, working on the yard, engaging in DIY projects, or even just staying home and catching up on projects that need to be done.

The activities at these establishments are a great way for your youngsters to make new friends and learn or polish skills. They will come home every day with all kinds of stories of their time at this home-away-from home. Attending will help them mature and become more independent as well as keep them out of mischief.
